Most larger stations have several exists. Zürich has an underpass
about 8 carriage lengths from the head of the tracks. Bern has an
underpass and an overpass. I thin kthat in Lausanne and Geneva the
exits are in the middle too.
Lausanne has two underpasses, and Genève too (but maybe a bit close together).

However, I really wonder about the use of double units between
St.Gallen and Genève; the high capacity is needed between Winterthur
and Bern...
