2) After 14 Oct and AFAIK until December six trains in each direction
are replaced by buses between Brig and Fiesch. This is due to not having
enough drivers available.

Presumably this is the local EMUs rather than the through Andermatt services. If so they are a comparitively recent innovation and theynever used to run anyway so perhaps the obvious trains to cull
