... and so was the rolling stock. But BD was the first of the "interurbans" in Switzerland to switch completely to EMU operation. In 1969 they got 9 articulated railcars, all 8 axles motorized!, which could work in MU. That was quite a change.

It's true that FLP introduced articulated railcars in 1968, and FART even in 1959, but they were not able to MU and had coaches added when required.
