Re: BLS Units Query (RBDe 566 I)

Martin Baumann

The latest Eisenbahn Amateur reports that 525 units are starting to take over the work done by 566 220 to 227 and that unit 222/922 is stored out of service at Lützelflüh-Goldbach

Ae 6/6 11417 and 11503

Martin Baumann

These two locos are no longer at Biasca. Their current location is unknown but it is likely they have been scrapped. There are now no Ae 6/6 left at Biasca

Re: Re 6/6 collision in Martigny and ICE diesel haulage

Martin Baumann

That was a mistake on my part I did not mean to imply it was number 514 I was not thinking and put the wrong class number. 11628 is certainly repairable but SBB Cargo have not been in any hurry to repair othet recently damaged locos

Thanks Martin

My source tells me that one of the wheelsets looked freshly machined, so I presume that it was returning from a maintenance session. However, since Mohlin has probably the last 'refuge siding' before Kaiseraugst, it is always worrying when some item of vintage stock is parked there.

Must be a local one as I photographed it at Renens the other week.

Another loco down, added to 482 030 which ended up on its side last week at Grosskorbetha near Leipzig due to a sideswipe with a rake of tank wagons.

Sorry, no, this is the only thing which is certain: It was /not/ unit 514. It was either 511, 512 or 513, but the number on the front is "collided away". These are NINA units, still numbered RABe 527 511-513 and belonging now to RegionAlps CH-RA, like the RBDe 560.4

Re 6/6 collision in Martigny and ICE diesel haulage

Martin Baumann

This morning there was a collision between an Re 6/6 and a Martigny-Orsieres RABe 514 unit. Nobody was injured (the unit was not in service and the driver escaped unhurt). Surprsingly the Re 6/6 seems to be more seriously damaged than the unit. It is either 11623 or 11628 but the damage makes the number impossible to read clearly. (Picture 4)

Yesterday it is reported that ICE 277 failed between Uttingen and Thun and was hauled into Thun by a BLS Am 843, number not recorded. (ICE 277 is 0622 Berlin Ost to Interlaken 1504 ex Bern)

Ae4/7 10997

Seen this morning 17/5/2013 at Mohlin was Ae 4/7 10997. Any idea as to where it was going...hope it wasn't a single journey to Kaiseraugst.
I have 2 photos but I'm not sure how to attach them.
Forgive my ignorance but what is the item looking like a 3rd rail collector shoe between the bogie wheels? Is it a signal actuating magnet?

[MGB] Annual report of BVZ Holding

OL.Guerbetal

In the annual report the CEO of the Matterhorn Gotthard Group says in an interview that he was glad to have 13% female employees against only 4% ten years ago. But he thinks that this is still not enough and that he would especially like it to welcome the first woman driver!

Freight volume Visp–Zermatt grew by 20.9% to 42'200 t. At the other end of the line, traffic went down by 55.1% to 32'900 t but will soon end completely with the NEAT nearing its completion.

Furka car suhttle suffered a slight minus of 2.3% due to several avalanche closings and transported 219'605 cars.

Full details of the open day are not yet available but the event includes a special formed by TEE unit 1053 that will actually carry passengers into
the works:

http://www.sbb.ch/freizeit-ferien/tagesausfluege/erlebnisreisen.angebotdetail.tagesausfluege-erlebnisreisen-weitere_erlebnisreisen-historisches_erlebnis_tee.html

As both SBB Historic and Verein Gottardo-Wanderweg are organising this trip two separate bookings are needed to cover the whole thing.

This Verein are also running trips that day with a crocodile, presumeably 14253. See

(Bellinzona works can be visited without travelling on the special train)

o.k., I know which track you are speaking about. But that's in no way the old alignment! This siding passes here:

Part of the original alignment is still in use as a siding. It curves of to the left as the four tracks towards Wiedikon or the Zimmnerberg Tunnel begin to descend.
