Here is another picture of 460s take in Zürich. Big difference. I would like to see Mr. Knoerr's photo. https://www.flickr.com/photos/79976134@N07/17270687055/in/dateposted/

I won't get into argument but it hit me immediately with the very glossy paint. What you see is what I saw with my eyes. If this paint is used on all refurbed Re460s it looks ugly.

Taken June 1, 2016 during my Gottardo 2016 trip. I forgot I had this
until I decided to post it on Flickr. Very glossy paint with purple
tint, different nose layout. It can't be seen here but the "R"
description on the other side is painted inside one of the foot steps
to the driver's cab. An experiment?
460 016 was the second Re 460 to be modernized. Logo and number on the front are the new standard. The colour effects are due to the light in Zrich HB plus your camera. Andr Knoerr took a picture 7 days earlier and there the colours look quite normal.

B3 (three axle trailer) 1343 has just been repatriated to Switzerland by Tram Club Basel.

It was built in 1963 and was sold to BLT in 1985 keeping its number. It was stored in November 1998 and went to Belgrade in November 2001 where it ran as 1343 before becoming 1457 in 2014.

The ex Basel three axle cars in Belgrade are now withdrawn. 1343 has initially been stored in Sissach where several other TCB cars awaiting restoration are also kept

Seems not. Unless one of the figures given was slightly wrong. In any case the difference can not be important, if you look at the map shown in 24heures.

RBS on the 13th March

OL.Guerbetal

Today, 13th March wasn't a happy day for RBS:

At Zytglogge RBS tram 86 crashed into an SVB Vevey unit due to a misaligned point.
<http://www.20min.ch/schweiz/bern/story/Tram-Kollision-in-der-Berner-Innenstadt-27930787>

On the other RBS lines a signal box failure lead to important delays. Only few trains passed before my office window and all at reduced speed. RBS recommended to use BLS and buses as far as possible.
I took my bicycle to get to Bern Wankdorf...

I'm not sure how up to date the linked pdf is
Some minor adaptations have been made since 2014. Official figures I got are these:

Il débute au km -0.227 (extrémité ouest du quai de la gare de Chauderon et se termine au km 1.460 au milieu de la gare de Prilly-Union. La longueur du nouveau tunnel est de 1478 m avec un portail ouest au km 1.251.

Start at km -0.227, Western end of Lausanne-Chauderon platform
Tunnel length 1478 m
Portal at km 1.251
End of project at km 1.460 in Union-Prilly station whose platforms are slightly changed at the Eastern end

This means that quite a bit of the existing tunnel will be disused, that's the bit forming the ramp from Chauderon to the Avenue d'Echallens

I overlooked 125th anniversaries.

The SZU one is actually 125 years of the Sihltalbahn which opened Selnau to Sihlwald 03.08.1892

The line to Uetliberg opened 12.05.1875

SZU as such has only existed since 01.01.1973

More 125:

Brienz to Rothorn 17.06.2017

Stein-Säckingen to Koblenz 01.08.2017

Glion to Rochers de Naye which opened in three stages in 1892 and was complete 16.09.1892

La Chaux des Fonds to Saignelegier 07.12.2017

Sihltalbahn Giesshübel to Wiedikon 01.12.2017

These indications are not correct. Official counting of the company is as follows:
<http://www.fahrplanfelder.ch/fileadmin/fap_pdf_graphic_tt/2014/GLEB.pdf>

-0.80 Lausanne-Flon
-0.35 Lausanne-Chauderon
+1.00 Montétan
+1.49 Union-Prilly

Thus, the distance to the contemporary Union-Prilly station is 2.29 km. The existing tunnel is 988 m. Entering into this tunnel must be made new, so part of the existing tunnel might be replaced. Then the new tunnel will not end exactly at the milepost of the Union-Prilly station and there is an open extension of which I'm not sure if it is counted in the 1.7 km. I try to get more accurate information.

Re: New Lausanne tunnel

The distance on the exisiting line is 850m more than the kilometre posts. meaning that the distance from Flon to Union-Prilly is actually 2.41km

1700m is the distance from Chauderon to Union-Prilly via the new tunnel according to the article. It is currently 1910m which is where the 210m less comes from.

LAUSANNE FLON 0.00km
CHAUDERON 0.50km
850m more than post
MONTETAN 1.00km but actual distance 1.85km
UNION-PRILLY 1.56km but actual distance 2.41km

I'm still confused. First you say:

Am 11.03.2017 um 18:22 schrieb Martin Baumann:
The new section is quoted as being 1700m long which if correct
reduces the distance by 210 metres
and then you say:

Am 12.03.2017 um 15:31 schrieb martin98baumann@outlook.com [SwissRail]:
Union Prilly is km POST 1.56 from Lausanne Flon BUT the line is 850

Can you explain the relation between your first (210 m less) and your second (850 m more) posting?
Thank you

Markus
