Re: 06.10.2019 special train with Ae 3/6 I 10664

Due to last minute unavailability of 10664 the train was actually worked by Be 4/6 12320.

Railway historic staff records

Paul Burkhalter

Here’s a question that combines my two interests, Swiss railways and genealogy!
It is said that my great-grandfather worked for the railway at Le Bouveret VS. This would have been sometime between 1870 and his death in 1912. Would anyone be able to tell me if employment records survive from this period, and where? I have asked SBB Historic but they tell me they do not have staff records.
My French/German is not sufficient to look myself.
Many thanks.

None of the new trains will be in service by Oct. 27.

These trains are now back in the online timetable, but since 7 October they only start from Genève Cornavin instead of Genève-Aéroport. Obviously somebody at SBB forgot to press the "publish" button when they changed the itinerary.

No, the last day of the 500s will be around the end of the year. The first trainset ex-AB will enter commercial service about mid-November.

A farewell event for the old rolling stock is being held on 27.10.2019. It is unclear if this will be the actual last day in traffic:

Lake Geneva diagram query

Dear All,

I discovered today that SBB mobile timetable no longer shows the return workings of IR1927/29/31 from Geneva Aeroport off the following Re4/4 diagrams.

The outbound morning trains 1904/6/8 are all still shown as running as before. Does anyone know whether they now run ECS back, or operate some other services, or it’s a timetable error (admittedly very unlikely for SBB!) or ...... ?

Cheers, David

Confirmed 415 in fine fettle!

Assume 415 is out today as well then. 414 is in the roundhouse at Landquart (with 704/707).

If you right click on the drawings you can save a copy of each vehicle type. NO idea what you would do with them after that. Most vehicles come in a left and right hand version.
NO sign of any oil tankers tacked on the back of St Moritz to Tirano services, I suspect that is because they are not booked workings.

Virtually all modern trams are modular and each segment can be quite short and lightweight, so each segment might not even be beyond the normal 'tonnage' that can be handled by the cable car facilities, if not then each segment would probably fit on a suitable vehicle and taken up the road

Very nicely made. But be aware that they don't distinguish EWI, EWII, EWIII and EWIV. And that Ge 4/4 III may often be replaced by Ge 4/4 II or Allegras.
