That is either 50 85 81-34 007-4 or 008-2 They are classified ABS (AB with Conductor compartment) and were rebuilt as follows:

007-4 ex A 50 85 18-34 013 released 09.12.2005

008-2 ex A 50 85 18-34 004 released 23.06.2006

The two ABS coaches have 17 first class seats and 37 standard seats.

They can only be operated with driving trailer 997/998 due to electrical differences from the other EW III.

This photo appears to show an EWIII AB. I was not aware that any coaches had been modified:

Was this a former EWIII A or what coach was converted and how many were transformed?

It is expected that all five ex Trognerbahn cars will be in service by the end of next month.

At this point the remaining old cars will be withdrawn with 504 going to the ANAT preservation group

The damaged sections of 5034 are at Bombardier Vienna for repair. 5034 is expected to return to service in Autumn 2020. At least the front two sections of 5019 are write offs and will be replaced. 5019 is not expected to return to service until the end of 2020
In what accidents were these trams damaged?

Thanks,
George

Re: New Zurich trams finally ordered

4001 has started testing on the VBZ network. Driver training will start in April with a view to passenger service in the summer. Each new car will be used in service for 25 days on the 11 before moving to line 4.

It is hoped 9 or 10 cars will be in service by the end of the year when VBZ hope to have enough trams to reverse the service cuts made on 25.11

AFAIK it is open to everyone. So I would expect bids from Hitachi and Talgo as well…

There should have been a loco at the rear of 11193's train as well. They can't use driving trailers in the Lausanne area now due to ETCS on the line towards Aigle

SBB TPC MGB 13/01/2020

13/01/2020
So having tried time and again to get haulage on BVB loks 31 & 32 which run on the TPC network from Villars Sur Ollon - Col De Bretaye, I tried again.
Caught 460087 on IC704 from Bern - Lausanne to connect in with 07.50 (IR1809) towards Aigle. This turned up with 11193 on banger stock.
Due to the Youth Olympic Games there were loads of people about but managed to get the front seat on the shires from Aigle to Villars. Duly arrived to Cow Bell city with thousands in Villars all seemingly supporting someone. God knows who. Massive queue to get on the train towards Col. Managed to get on the platform at first attempt though and flagged cart 82. Then had a chat with Bert who advised that 31 had a defect but 32 was just coming out of the shed to work an additional at 09.15. That has happened before though and then it promptly failed on me last year and went straight back onto the shed. As I was already on the platform and everyone else was behind the barrier I walked up to the front end and there was 32. So kept everything crossed that it didn’t fail and fortunately this time it duly departed at 09.15. It also worked back on 09.45. Others on the hill were all units 81, 83 & 92.
Then made way to MGB.
460049 IR1815 11.22 Aigle - Visp
MGB 52 R352 15.25 Täsch - Brig
460117 IC1080 17.20 Brig - Bern

Cheers Keith.
