A TK, as Martin mentioned, is far from being "mega", but you wouldn't spend money on an asset you don't need any more, would you? Technically they are obselete, they are expensive to operate but they are cheap to keep as a reserve. And for the time bing BLS still needs a certain number of them, until the driving trailers are ready for car shuttles with Re 465.

174 is also out of service. Its authority to run expired on 28.01.2021

Without at least a TK the next locos that expire are

175 09.10.2021

178 26.06.2021

186 21.08.2021

190 27.11.2021

According to Schweizer Eisenbahn Revue BLS expect to have 12 locos remaining at the end of 2021

Re: Coach Numbering Font

Hi Markus

I didn't think I knew enough about this to say, but I went to a font download site to get the Calibri font only to discover that it dates from 2005! Clearly not what was used on coaches during the SBB + CFF era. If SBBH have used it on their vehicles, I'm shocked too!

The DIN 1451 Mittelschrift DB Regular font is the correct one although I did have to tweak the figure 1 and 7 to get it absolutely right according to period close-up photos I have of number panels.

For older markings...
according to SBB Historic, the Leichtstahlwagen have the following markings:
Symbol Height 45mm
Font Calibri
Ginstergelb RAL 1032
(or 3M Scotchcal Nr. 100-604)
Three messages further down, somebody who usually knows what he says, said that he was shocked by this information. And he also said that the current inscriptions on SBBH Leichtstahlwagen were wrong!

193 256 was briefly in passenger service on March 4th. When 11143 failed between Jetstetten and Rafz on train 1009 193 256, which was running light to Singen, hauled the train to Hüntwangen-Wil where the passengers were taken off, and then took the empty train to Zürich HB. Coach Numbering Font

Alan McMillan

Does anyone know the name of the font used for numbering SBB coaching stock in the days of the SBB + CFF logo? I've thought previously it was DIN 1451 Engschrift and although that is close, it's not quite right.

From 5 April 2021 this curve is used by the new RE80 service linking Locarno with Chiasso every 30 minutes, extended hourly to Milano Centrale.

176 is the lastest loco to be withdrawn. It had been out of service since December 2020

The pantograph blade looks very similar to the one on the Re 6/6 operated by RailAdventure.

Has just been announced on their Facebook page that this is now cancelled.

A provisional trip is planned for 14305 on 28 August, no details yet. There should also be the planned outing on 4 December.

The SBB Historic trains planned for April are also all cancelled. 8/9 May trains are still open, for now.

421 372 went to Kaiseraugst for scrap yesterday (along with previously withdrawn 11351 and 421 392)
On a more positive note, 421 371 still going strong with SBB-C has just passed through Pratteln, 31.03.21 on an empty car transport train.

421392 at Kaiseraugst looks almost pristine in its Münich advertising livery, apart from some graffiti
