Sounds good, Glenn.
Has it ever been used for it’s intended purpose?
➢ Hope not. Someone will have to check the rocks for dents and scratches.

Hello David,

Not sure I understand the question. Do you mean, "were there once 4 loops at Alp Grüm"?

➢ It’s a catch point, routes runaways into the wall rather than letting them run down the hill.

One of the units was sitting on the short siding at Alp Grum today at 12:40 (as viewed on the RhB livestream).
That would have been for the occasional (on a Thursday) supply train to the works based around the old turntable siding. (More common is a Tuesday one, normally a weekly delivery of materials. This week that was powered by the ex-ABe Xe 232.01.)
I noticed a train was present again today (a cement container and what were probably a couple of Rp-w with white sacks of something on pallets, but I was too busy to hang around and see what was shunting it - so thanks for telling me ! (Don't suppose you noticed any Xac lurking near the Gem somewhere, did you?)

RhB Ge6/6ii activity in May

File added to folder “RhB” with last month’s diagrammed work for RhB 7xx. Hope some members find it of interest.

After almost nil passenger work for the class in April, it was a welcome sight that the appearances bounced back, including use vice Ge4/4ii or Units as well as the diagrammed seasonal (Rheinschlucht) services.

705 is in regular use again after being sidelined since mid-Jan. 707 the only one not planned for passenger trains in May.

That is over two years by my reckoning. Wonder how long the entire programme of nine machines will take.....

A pure guess, but 802 has been working the Dienstzug to Alp Grüm from the north on a Tuesday morning, so perhaps it's due some maintenance and 801 has been sent to cover...

Thanks a lot for confirming it’s only a short-term hire, Thomas.

Do I correctly assume 506 is away under inspection/repair, then ?

Thanks for sending this info, and the links to the articles.  I live about 60 minutes drive from the base of this cog-railway; I did not know they were rebuilding it.

The snow cutter/blower looks very interesting.  I will need to make a trip to ride the train this summer.
