But make sure you get the correct ticket. At least some of the Chiasso to Milan tickets sold by the SBB are for use on local services only (Chiasso is the terminus of one of Milan's "S-Bahn" lines),

Switzerland. So you could just buy it at a convenient time in advance.

Both 420 230 (11230) and 11622 are currently under rerpair . Both have been fitted with replacement cabs at one end. (Bellinzona keep several ready for such work)
