When we speak about buildings that house railway vehicles, we usually distinguish three types in German:
Now what is the correct word for the third type. I only find "depot" for anything. But is this correct for the English use of this word? An example for the third type is the shed at Rigi Kulm. Would this be called a depot in English? Markus |

Together with the new railcar comes a Stadler CBTC equipment for GOA4 level operation. Several parts of the infrastructure will be renewed. Total cost for infrastructure and vehicle will be between CHF 20 and 25 Mio., as it hasn't yet been exactly defined, which renewals will be done.A new railcar has been ordered for this line from Stadler. It will enter service in 2026 when the line will be converted to automatic operation. (No driver on the railcar) Markus |

Well, it's not the CJ's 175 years, but the 175 years of railways in Switzerland.

Re: [ERG] [SwissRail] RhB crocs 414 & 415
An easy way to tell - on today’s (Fri 16) diagrams 603 finishes with train 8062 running light from Davos to Landquart. It is then pre-allocated tomorrow on 8019, which is LQ-Dav, in position for the next week’s services.

Good morning,
I emailed the RhB to ask about next week, this was the reply 'one crocodile is on repair, the other is working a special train, so 603 will work the Davos-Filisur trains next week also'

It is worth remembering that 414 (1929) is only 18 years older than 603 (1947)

RhB crocs 414 & 415

Afternoon all,
As people may be aware, 603 is deputising for a Croc this week on the Davos - Filisur services, 414 worked last work but went back to Landquart as booked Friday night. Both 414 and 415 are currently in the Landquart roundhouse, 415 looks to have its paintwork rubbed down (can see the undercoat) so presumably will be out of action for a little while longer. I can only presume that 414 will work again next week and possibly alternate with a 601 until the end of the period in October. |
