Thanks for the replies, folk, especially Keith's link below - I'd seen the 'list' version on the website, but the printed on is really handy for, well, printing outů!

Cheers,
Dave

station closures

Gordon Wiseman <gordonwis@...>

Having followed Keith's link to the electronic versions of the station
departure boards and timetable leaflets I noticed some more things I didn't
have tie to notice when I wwas in Geneva in December and by chance captured
on film the change of two station names.

I notice that Tolochenaz has now closed which means a total of 7 (I think)
local stations have closed on the Geneve - Lausanne line in the last
few years. Is this rate of closure matched on any other line in
Switzerland?

I also noticed that there are no trains to La Plaine after 21.46. The last
two 'trains' are now bus which means (knowing the territory as I do, a
rather convoluted road route. This is reflected in the extra 20 minutes on
the journey. Late at night is just when I would want to get home faster,
not more slowly!

Thanks for the link

I had forgetten about/never seen this...

Pity large stations like Geneve don't have the departure poster. The
printed version of the yellow departure poster used to be very handy - you
could almost get away with just having that if your rail trips from Geneva
were only occasional

Re: Station Timetables (off topic DB)

If you do a journey query in Hafas to include the station departure board
you want, then click on a train number to bring up the entire train, then
click on the station name you want, that should bring you to the station
departures & arrivals of that station, you can pick any hour you want
Hope this make sense & helps !

Go to www.rail.ch and do an itinerary including the station you want the
yellow timetables for. Once the itinerary comes up, click the station name
and the station info comes up. Fill in the Station Info you want and click
SHOW. The yellow timetable will appear.

Sincerely,

John Fleck

Hi all,

Anyone know where I can download/print the yellow station timetables you see
pinned up - the one showing every departure from the station grouped by
hour?

Similarly, (and off topic) anyone know if I can download the same thing for
the DB network, in the large canton to the northÔÇŽ?

Was at Filisur today, trying out our wee 4x4's four by fourness - Three
quick pics at http://davee.ch if you're interested.

Cheers,
Dave

P.S. Forgot about the webcam till I got back -

Me taking one of the pics on the way out:

Wife heading for the hotel on the way back to see if they're still serving:

Albula line blocked again?

It looks like the Albula line is shut south of Filisur as on the railway webcam at 16.22 Ge4/4III 646 is seen running around its train.
On Friday the line was closed south of Berguen with the Engadine line also being closed near Zernez.

Double deckers can be used on all IC/IR lines except
- Lausanne - Sion - Leuk (- Visp)
- Brig - Domodossola
- Basel - Del├»┬┐┬Żmont - Biel/Bienne
- Zug/Luzern - Arth-Goldau - Bellinzona - Chiasso
- Weinfelden - Konstanz
- (Frutigen - Kandersteg - Brig)

For Lausanne - Leuk and Zug/Luzern - Chiasso an upgrade might been realized within 5 or 10 years (financing pending).

You can expect that the new trains will - together with existing IC2000 push-pull consists - take over all services on the lines not restricted and thus free EW IV for the restricted lines and the reserve. This will allow to withdraw the Bpm ex UIC-Z2 and the remaining EW I/II.

Re: Geneva to Lausanne RE trains

Keith Hookham <keith47424@...>

In a perverse way I enjoy doing the diagrams. However the Re460 are taking longer than I thought they would. The problem is that the diagrams 6xx.xx are written like the RhB in a time format (exactly like the sheets you can see at Filisur) and tell you what they are due to work the next day, however the diagrams 7xx.xx are just a PDF written format file so I am having to go through a hell of a lot of pages back & forth. And there are a lot more 7xx.xx than 6xx.xx. Very tedious but should be done hopefully within the next week or so (but hopefully sooner.) Then, since I received the answers about MGB train numbers the other day, I can make a start on them.

Cheers Keith47424.

Re: Geneva to Lausanne RE trains

Don

Thanks Keith, as always your splendid efforts to produce these loco diagrams is much appreciated and well researched for planning line side visits each year. Those RE services were certainly checked out when the file was posted and it was good to see confirmation of the continued use of the Re 4/4s and indeed their introduction on the St Maurice push-pull jobs also. I guess the odd 511 DDs unit may appear in due course if, as and when the required deliveries are made and they are passed for service etc. but the later the better as I have one or two images at certain locations in mind during 2012 and a 4/4 on the front would be required.

Regards,

Don
