I don't know how much I like the new BLS colours. I guess I will want to see how it looks when the locomotive is attached to a train.
I would be curious to see whether it would be more attractive with a dark blue or silver stripe along the bottom of the green, kind of the way that the SBB loks used to have the white stripe between the red or green and the grey part.

I don't know, if the brand will be used in the future. We will see...

But apart from the brand will BLSC keep the RU XRAIL, in order to get access to EU rails.

A third question is, if XRAIL will continue to be a vehicle keeper. An RU doesn't necessarily need own vehicles. The big number of new locomotives registered for BLSC makes me think that they will concentrate vehicle keepership to BLSC.

I was not sure how the acquisition of Crossrail was going to affect these new locomotives. Will Crossrail be subsumed into BLS Cargo or will the Crossrail brand continue to be used in some markets? The leased X4E (193) have both BLSC and Crossrail markings.

I think the GEX is an exception for several reasons

Brig - Chur by GEX takes 3:57, by IC8/IC3 only 3:34
this doesn't make it a very interesting connection

Hourly trains have to serve all the villages along the line, not only Andermatt.

Train consists on the rack sections are limited in length. Why should
you open the train for other passengers when you are already fully booked?

On sections, where the train can be longer, the GEX is combined with the
IR or RE.

But if you look at Golden Pass Panoramic, at the BEX and others, you'll=20
find them more and more fully integrated into the normal timetable.

I`d be very interested to see GEX running an hourly service throughout the day. I doubt it would be financially viable and would certainly dilute its attraction for many.

Touristic announcements are made in every IR Chur - St. Moritz and back. So, add the Alvras to the list :-)
This would suggest the distinction between high level special trains and regular trains is becoming increasingly blurred, and more and more tourist traffic is being displaced from named onto unnamed trains.

Will we ever see, for example, the Glacier Express becoming an hourly all-year round service, effectively replacing many/most of the other trains on the route? With the closing of the quality gap this is a possibility.

This would reduce the question to specific rolling stock:
- panoramic coaches for BEX and GEX
- dining cars?
- A 1151-53, 1154, 1161, 1141-44 (ex-CIWL)
- maybe A 1251-52 (ex AB4ü 251-52)

Maybe the criteria that Toma was looking for are more along the lines of

1) trains operating primarily for tourists rather than local traffic
1b) or if local traffic is also covered, separate coaches provided for tourists
2) tourist coaches have enhanced comfort or facilities (this can include panoramic windows, dining facilities, announcement of items of touristic interest)
3) the type of tourists the train is being marketed for are interested in discovering and viewing the landscape, thus for example ski shuttles which may also attract many tourists are discarded from this category
4) such trains are not typically integrated in the "Taktfahrplan" (as far as that existed at the time in question) but operate additionally to it (exceptions may apply)
