Ge 6/6 II 706 was stopped yesterday with traction motor problems. It is so far unclear if it will be repaired.

If it is just the traction motors that are a problem could they re-use the ones off 701?

 

Is there any need for it to still be available for traffic?

(I suspect that the engine in the best physical condition bodywise will be the machine kept for the heritage collection. It could be 706 is that one and it will receive components from other machines to keep it running).
