Siemens today announced that they will not go to the Bundesgericht either
Again, this is only the suspensive effect which will not be re-established. The final decision of the administrative court is still awaited but as the court said it is unlikely that Siemens or Stadler would be successful. However, in minor points they could.

"Das Beschwerdeverfahren läuft derweil beim Zürcher Verwaltungsgericht weiter, das in seinem Beschluss vom 10. Februar 2017 mitgeteilt hatte, dass «die Beschwerden bei einer vorläufigen Beurteilung mit einer überwiegenden Wahrscheinlichkeit abzuweisen wären»."

The first two cars, presumably 4001 and 4002, have been completed and are currently undergoing dynamic testing in Bautzen. They will be delivered to Zürich next month

.. but will not enter commercial service before next year. Meanwhile, and due to defects and collisions, VBZ must reduce the timetable of some lines. At the moment you might see single cars where double units should be available.

Thanks for the advice. Are the Mirages that were reintroduced recently still in service, and if so how long are they expected to stay in use?. Is there any advice on when and where best to find them?.

One car was often seen on line 17 during evening peak hour. The second one seems to usually cover diagram 0811 that leaves from Oerlikon shed at 15:26 to start from Hardturm at 16:01 and 17:23 to Klusplatz and 18:41 to be back in Oerlikon at 19:07 (info from tram n° 138).

The diagram on line 17 that may use a Mirage :

1620 ex Salersteig
1657 ex Albisgütli
1745 ex Werdhölzli terminates Bahnhofplatz no passengers beyond this point
1812 ex Bahnhofstrasse to Salersteig

Line 17 is cancelled and replaced by lines 6 and 10 and line 15 is reduced to 15 min interval. And, as reported, the two Mirages will go to line 13.

The first car will be delivered to Zürich on November 15th. It is hoped that by the end of next year 10 will have been delivered and by the end of 2021 25

The TAGESANZEIGER reports that VBZ have officially requested permission to take up the option to order another 70 cars from Bombardier. This would see the complete replacement of all Tram 2000 cars

https://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/video/?video_id=409057 shows the delivery of the first car

4001 has started testing on the VBZ network. Driver training will start in April with a view to passenger service in the summer. Each new car will be used in service for 25 days on the 11 before moving to line 4.

It is hoped 9 or 10 cars will be in service by the end of the year when VBZ hope to have enough trams to reverse the service cuts made on 25.11
